Walkera V450D03 Helicopter – Standard-Beginner-3D Transmitter Settings
RC Pro Setup Guide by: Tom Zadar
Setup for the V450D03 – RX2703H-D Receiver – Devo Transmitter
Select a new model or reset a current model.
Any settings that are not listed below are default settings.
Type – Helicopter
SWASH – 1 Servo Normal
STMOD – MODE2 if you want the throttle on the left stick
REVERS – All normal
Travel Adjustment: All 100%
Beginners can set Pitch Travel Adjustment to 85% for H↑ and 85% for L↓
For quicker control response increase the ALIE and ELEV Travel Adjustment. *If you set the values too high the servos might bind.
Beginners should use the default values of 100%
Adjust RUDD Travel Adjustment to control the tail response and the speed of pirouettes.
THHLD – STATE – ACT
POSIT – 0.0%
Set throttle trim to center.

Pitch Curve
Normal Flight
L= – 15% *
M= 0% **
H= + 55%
* If you are a beginner you can use L= 0%. This will give you zero degree negative pitch for indoor flying or outdoor flying with no wind.
The heli will not slam to the ground if you pull the throttle down to fast due to having negative pitch. Do not use this for stunt modes, only use this for normal mode.
** Beginners can use M= + 20% to hover at mid stick to learn on. The helicopter will hover about 1 line past half throttle.
Some beginners like to learn this way instead of hovering at 3/4 throttle.
The drawback with this is you will have to learn to hover at 3/4 throttle if you plan to do any 3D flying.
Stunt 1
L= – 55%
M= 0%
H= + 55%
Stunt 2
L= – 55%
M= 0%
H= + 55%
Pitch Cure – Throttle Hold
L= 0%
M= 0%
H= 0%
These settings will help minimize damage in a crash as the swash and blades will be at mid stick zero degrees pitch.
This will also help prevent a boom strike. The swash does not move with TH with these settings.
If you want control of the swash in TH to help you land in a crash don’t use these settings.
If you are setting up pitch curves use these settings below first then switch to the settings above for when you fly.
L= -100%
M= 0%
H= + 100%
DR&EXP
Set D/R and EXPO to your personal preference.
Standard Settings
ELEV D/R = 70% EXP +30%
AILE D/R = 70% EXP +30%
RUDD D/R = 100% EXP LIN
Beginner Settings
ELEV D/R = 50% EXP +30%
AILE D/R = 50% EXP +30%
RUDD D/R = 100% EXP LIN
3D Settings
ELEV D/R = 125% EXP LIN
AILE D/R = 125% EXP LIN
RUDD D/R = 100% EXP -6%
Receiver – Gyro Sensitivity Settings
The receiver has one or two gyro sensitivity pots depending on the model of the receiver to adjust the Elevator/Aileron sensitivity, changes the flight effect.
Adjust the pot(s) to make the helicopter more response or more stable. You want a balance of good response and stability.
If you adjust the pot(s) too high the swashplate may rock back and forth in flight.
Turning up or down the Elevator/Aileron sensitivity can make the helicopter much more responsive or much more stable.
I recommend you first try the factory settings. Most of the time the factory settings are very good.
Be careful when you turn the pot. I would use the plastic screwdriver that came with the helicopter to turn the pot.
Some of the pots will turn 360* and some have a stop on the pot to keep it from turning 360*.
Be careful not to turn it anymore once the pot stops or the stop tab will get damaged and the pot will then turn 360*.
Notes:
Nose pitches up in fast forward flight with a 3 axis or 6 axis gyro.
Receiver gyro gain is too low. Increase the Elevator/Aile gyro trim pot(s).
If the receiver gyro gain is too high the heli may bob up and down.

Receiver Settings for Helicopters and Quads.
This is a list of settings that I have seen on different receivers.
The settings available on a receiver will vary depending on which model receiver it is.
Helicopters:
AILE-G.S or ALIE GYRO – Adjusts the Aileron Gyro sensitivity, changes the flight effect.
ELE-G.S or ELEV GYRO – Adjusts the Elevator Gyro sensitivity, changes the flight effect.
RUDD GS – (Rudder Gyro sensitivity adjust knob) – Adjusts the Rudder Gyro sensitivity, changes the flight effect.
ELE/AILE G. – Adjusts the Elevator/Aileron sensitivity, changes the flight effect.
ADJ Mode Switch or ADJ – WK (Adjustment Mode setting) – Turns off the Gyros. Use when leveling the Swashplate and making adjustments.
EXT – Adjusts the Servo Travel.
SERVO EXT. – (Servo Extent knob) – Servo Extent knob is used to increase or decrease Servo Travel.
ELE/AILE EXT (Elevator/Aileron Servo Extent knob) – Adjusts the Servo Travel.
RUDD EXTENT or RUDD. EXT (Rudder Servo Extent knob) – Adjusts the Tail Servo Travel.
Pit.REV (Pitch Reverse switch) – Reverse the rotation direction of the Pitch Servo.
ON – OFF (Flight mode switch) = Set/choose helicopter flight mode.
OFF – BAL – ON (Flight mode switch) = Set/choose helicopter flight mode.
BAL DELAY (Balance Control Delay) – Adjusts the signal control speed from the ELEV/ALIE servo, changes the flight effect.
Quads:
Gyro sensitivity adjust knob – Adjusts the gyro sensitivity of the front/back/left/right/tail.

Here is a list I made of common Dual Rate and Expo settings for Standard/Beginner/3D settings for Quads and Helicopters.
If you don’t like to use Expo you can set it to LIN.
LIN = Linear
Some radios use the term Line instead of LIN.
Spektrum – LIN
Walkera Devo – Line
Walkera 2801 Pro – LIN
