Turbo Ace 915 V2 9g Motor

I just got the Turbo Ace 915 V2 and don’t see any reviews on it so I will done one.
I first tested the motor with the 16T pinion and I got 5,010 RPM is too much I think so I switched it to a 14T and got 4,620 RPM with the XP-12A-2 verison 2 and 4,350 RPM with the L3 ESC.
I was surprised how cool the motor and esc ran. I landed and check them right away and they were only warm. I was expecting them to be very warm to slightly hot.

Flight times were good I think for such a strong motor.
I got almost the same flight times as I did with my HP08-2 20T and a L2 esc.

My Walkera 4G6V helicopter pitch curves:

Normal mode -3* to +13* pitch

ST-1 & ST-2 mode +/- 13* pitch

Dkfuji was accurate with the flight times with this motor and also the head speed.
We both got about the same flight times and head speeds with 14T and 16T.

 

 

Thrust Test

I just did the first thrust test that I know of for the Turbo Ace 915 14T.
Measured at full negitive -13* pitch in stunt mode at 100% throttle
I will do another thrust test with a 15T and one with a 16T.
First test I used a new Oversky 650 mah 25C Linear battery fully charged. Thrust = 181.4 Grams.
Second test I used a Oversky 600 mah 22C Linear battery fully charged. Thrust = 193.3 Grams.

I also tested the XP-12A-2 ver 2 EBAY BL ESC. It does
increase head speed by 5%-8% as claimed plus it is lighter
than the L3 ESC.

There is no question that the new XP-12A-2 ver 2 with the new firmware is the best esc to use for the highest head speed! Plus it is 12 amps compared to the Walkera L2/L3 ESC which is 10 amps.
The new XP-12 gave me the highest head speed out of any esc I have ever tested in my reviews. Much more than the L, L2, L3, XP-7A, or XP-12A V1.

The L3 or the XP-12A v2 work very well with the Turbo Ace 915 V2. I don’t get any cogging at all with either esc and I’m using the plugs.
Didn’t have to direct solder the motor wires to the esc.

I placed an order for 15T to try out. I will list the head speed and flight times.

I like the new Turbo Ace 915 motor. It is very powerful, doesn’t cog, runs at a cool temp, smooth running, and gets good flight times I think.
I also like the new XP-12A V2. Extreme head speed with this esc! Plus you can program it and it has LVC.
