RC Pro Setup Guide by: Tom Zadar
Setup for the Blade mSR/mSR X – Spektrum DX6I, DX7/DX7se, DX7s, DX8/DX18, DX9 Transmitter.
* ACRO Mode
* HELI Mode
You can use HELI or ACRO mode.
Select a new model or reset a current model.
Any settings that are not listed below are default settings.
Model Type – ACRO
All you need to do is select a new model or rest a current model, select ACRO for Model Type and bind the heli. All the settings are defaults. The only settings to program are Dual Rate and Expo.
TRAVEL ADJ – All defaults (100%)
For quicker control response increase the ALIE and ELEV Travel Adjustment. *If you set the values too high the servos might bind.
Beginners should use the default values of 100%
Adjust RUDD Travel Adjustment to control the tail response and the speed of pirouettes.
DR&EXP
Set D/R and EXPO to your personal preference.
Standard Settings
ELEV D/R = 70% EXP +30%
AILE D/R = 70% EXP +30%
RUDD D/R = 100% EXP LIN
Beginner Settings
ELEV D/R = 50% EXP +30%
AILE D/R = 50% EXP +30%
RUDD D/R = 100% EXP LIN
Ultra Beginner Settings
These settings are for hovering and slow flight only. These settings have very low servo travel which will make the controls less responsive to stick input if you need to tame down the controls even more.
ELEV D/R = 30% EXP -10%
AILE D/R = 30% EXP -10%
RUDD D/R = 100% EXP +20%
Model Type – HELI
Reverse: All Normal
Swash Type: 1 SERVO 90°
Travel Adjustment: All 100%
For quicker control response increase the ALIE and ELEV Travel Adjustment. *If you set the values too high the servos might bind.
Beginners should use the default values of 100%
Adjust RUDD Travel Adjustment to control the tail response and the speed of pirouettes.
Use these settings if you want a more aggressive helicopter.
If you are a beginner you should use 100% instead.
These settings will be too aggressive for beginners.
AILE: 125% – 125%
ELEV: 125% – 125%
RUDD: 125% – 125%
Sub Trim: All 0%
GYRO:
RATE SW-GYRO

Default is INH. Enable throttle hold and use these settings.
HOLD POS. 0.0%

AILE D/R = 30% EXP -10%
RUDD D/R = 100% EXP +20%
Here is a list I made of common Dual Rate and Expo settings for Standard/Beginner/3D settings for Quads and Helicopters.
If you don’t like to use Expo you can set it to LIN.
LIN = Linear
Some radios use the term Line instead of LIN.
Spektrum – LIN
Walkera Devo – Line
Walkera 2801 Pro – LIN
Standard Settings
ELEV D/R = 70% to 100% > 70%, 80%, 85% are commonly used
EXP = +10% to +40% > +30% is commonly used
AILE D/R = 70% to 100% > 70%, 80%, 85% are commonly used
EXP = +10% to +40% > +30% is commonly used
RUDD D/R = 100% > For faster tail response and pirouettes (Heli) or faster rudder response and pirouettes (Quad) use 100% to 150%
EXP = LIN > For faster tail response and pirouettes (Heli) or faster rudder response and pirouettes (Quad) use -10% to -70%
Beginner Settings
ELEV D/R = +40% to +60% > 50% is commonly used
EXP = +30 to +40% > +30% is commonly used
AILE D/R = +40% to +60% > 50% is commonly used
EXP = +30 to +40% > +30% is commonly used
RUDD D/R = 75% to 100% > 100% is commonly used
EXP = LIN or +1% to +20% > LIN is commonly used
Ultra Beginner Settings
These settings are for hovering and slow flight only.
ELEV D/R = +30%
EXP = -10%
AILE D/R = +30%
EXP = -10%
RUDD D/R = 75% to 100% > 100% is commonly used
EXP = LIN or +1% to +25% > LIN is commonly used
A good combination would be to use the Beginner Settings on Switch Position “0”
and use the Ultra Beginner Settings on Switch Position “1”.
POS-0: ELEV D/R = 50% EXP +30%
POS-0: AILE D/R = 50% EXP +30%
POS-0: RUDD D/R = 100% EXP LIN
POS-1 :ELEV D/R = 30% EXP -10%
POS-1: AILE D/R = 30% EXP -10%
POS-0: RUDD D/R = 100% EXP LIN
3D Settings
ELEV D/R = 100% to 125% > 100% is commonly used
EXP = LIN or -10% to -70% > LIN is commonly used
AILE D/R = 100% to 125% > 100% is commonly used
EXP = LIN or -10% to -70% > LIN is commonly used
RUDD D/R = 100% > For faster tail response and pirouettes (Heli) or faster rudder response and pirouettes (Quad) use 100% to 150%
EXP = LIN > For faster tail response and pirouettes (Heli) or faster rudder response and pirouettes (Quad) use -10% to -70%
